When I was a kid I read Charlie Chaplin's autobiography. The first half was great, growing up in England, landing with an actors and travelling on a train across Utah in the early 1910's. He signed a contract with S(ennett) & A(rbuckle) for 12 pictures a year in 1918? for 1.2 million . It was an easy fun read.
The second half, besides marrying 18 year old Oona O'Neil, Eugene's daughter and getting kicked out of the US on some bogus stuff, like marrying 18 year old Oona O'Neil, was all funerals.
He said something that always stuck with me,

"When the old people die, the world grows younger."

I work at a large public university. There are a couple of GD fans among the 20 year olds. When I told one that Hunter had passed her comment was:

"Well, he was old"

Damn...so am I.

It is odd people will say that, as if is ok for them to die. They were old, they lived.
If the person was young, then its " That's a shame."
